The Fab Five. One Pieces

I’ll confess I don’t wear one pieces that often. I have a long torso. But when I do, I feel uber cool. Even better, put on some shorts or a skirt with one…taa daa, instant cute outfit.

So I perused the amazing singlets out there, and here are 5 fantabulous onesies that make me want to cover my bellybutton all summer. One pieces aren’t just for swim team anymore folks, but if you would wear any of these 5 in a swim meet, you’d look amazing. Even with a swim cap and goggles.

1: Tyler Rose - Just like a Woman.  It’s net, it’s bright, it has a ruffle, it’s double straps can be can be tied as a bandeau or a halter, it’s versatile. IT’S AWESOME.

2: Mikoh - Montauk. The knots. The knots. The Knots!!! I’m obsessed with these knots.

3: Tori Praver- Lucy If you’ve ever worn Tori’s smocked fabric, you know they make you look & feel awesome. The more smockedness, the better. Bonus points for a removable strap.

4: Letarte - Coton candy - The details people. The details. Little shells and turquoise beads between your cleavage, great pattern. Fun colors. Love it.

5: Acacia Marrakesh - Oh emmm geee. How I love theeee. Especially in the Choctaw pattern. Bonus points for being able to wear anywhereability.

…Next week, bikinis under $100. Boo ya!

Mimi Chaos. Me Me Likey.

For anyone who is looking for a duck dive friendly, cheeky bootie bottomed, super cute, comfortable, well made, and affordable swimwear line…meet Mimi Chaos.

Owner & Designer Angie Menghini started out making each suit by hand in her living room, aiming to create a bikini that she could put on in the morning not knowing what the day may bring (surfing, camping, cliff jumping, hammock lounging, paddling to Molokai…). Well, now Angie has taken the suit designing and manufacturing from her living room, to Thailand, and these suckers can be worn comfortably and securely all day, no matter the activity. Must be the Thai food.

…oh yeah, are you ready for the coolest uniqueness factor ever? I found out we are neighbors. It’s a small world after all.

Posh Pua. Easy Island ‘Kinis.

Sometimes, a line…just gets it. Gets it, meaning, the look, feel, simplicity, and image is as perfectly Hawaiian beach babe as it gets. Such is the case with Posh Pua.

Designer Julie Stone is a wife, mother of 2 boys, and also the Einstein of bikini craftsmanship. After learning to sew from her mom when she was little, Julie has been making bikinis ever since, having the perfect fitting bikini as her ultimate goal. (Yes, trial and error and children’s department shopping was involved in the research.) Well we all should write Julie a thank you note for all of her work, because there is a line for perfect fitting, supportive, non-cutting-in, tiny, can be worn surfing, and never gives you a muffin top, not too expensive, amazing, go-to bikinis. Phew!

The Rip Curl Mirage…is now a bikini.

Meet the new Mirage bikini from Rip Curl. Yes I said it…bikini. The famous boardshorts have branched out into bikiniville, and I’m convinced it’s one of the most brilliant bikinis made by a Surf company to date. It’s chic, reversible, flattering (covering juuust enough, but not too much) insanely comfortable, light as air, softer than buttah, yet stays cemented to your body. Needless to say, I’m definitely a huge fan.

Check out the styles at ripcurl.com (along with their rather sweet new my bikini site) and write a thank you note to them later :)

Wanderlust Swimwear. The LBB perfected.

There’s one bikini you must own. The perfect fitting, go to little black bikini. As many bikinis as I own (a number I will not disclose), the LBB is definitely worn the most. Maybe it’s because I feel like a James Bond girl whenever I wear one. If you don’t have one, it’s time to switch to the dark side.

No worries, I found the perfect place to grab one…

Say enchanté to Wanderlust swimwear. A line of perfect fitting, amazingly well constructed LBB’s designed to fit any shape and occasion. The fabric, oh the fabric, is thick, luscious, body hugging jersey Lomellina (made in Italy), that has a matte look, dries quickly, is pilling resistant and has an SPF of 50+.

Designer & owner Marina Hamm’s line is unique, and quite smart. She put the focus on function, durability and fit over colors, flair and trends. These suits are made to be worn, worn well, and worn a lot.

Do I own a LBB from Wanderlust? You betcha. Which one? The Coachella. Do I wear it regularly and feel like I belong in a James Bond movie? Ohhhh yeah buddy.

Get Your Bum Into a Boom Boom.

What’s Fun, flirty, sporty, can be worn surfing or laying on the beach, and costs under $70? No, it’s not some new perfume, it’s a bikini by Boom Boom Hawaii.

Owner and designer Elena Merritt (who nearly grew up in the ocean and claims a bikini is practically her second skin that she never left home without) you, my dear, know how to make one heck of a swimwear line. From cheeky and bold color blocks, to ruched bottoms & halters, the line is simple, yet makes a statement. That statement? Less is more. Oh, Elena I could hug you.

Some of my favorites: this beautiful rainbow Chi Chi, the sporty yet flirty (and appropriately named) Smiles, and the ruched to fantasticness Veda. But, really, you can’t go wrong with any piece from a line that’s “designed with expertise, made with soul, and worn with good ‘ol fashion fun.”

So, stop on over to BoomBoomHawaii.com and get your bum into a Boom Boom.

Ani Bikinis. Say Oui.

There’s something about a bikini made of luscious, buttery, hand-dyed & textured fabrics that makes you think of lazy summer weekends in which you only wear that aforementioned bikini, and exotic travels when that’s all you need to pack. So, yes there’s something unbelievably sweet about Ani Bikinis.

If I were to shop for a bikini blindfolded, I would no doubt end up picking a piece from designer Ani Breslin’s line (it’s THAT soft), then be absolutely thrilled with my choice…and immediately want to head out for a surf to try it out.

Each piece is made from hand selected, exclusive “short run” fabrics, with a classy but sassy fit and simple design, perfect for the carefree beach babe. The suits don’t just hug your body in all the right spots, they bear hug it in sweetness.

The line has a certain air about it, and I think Ani says it best: “Fashion fades, style is eternal. Women who wear ANI bikinis will be drawn to what I create because they have style, elegance, charm, and class. But they will not be afraid to get dirty, dance around, and drink beer with the men.”

Yup. What she said. Thanks for the amazing Bikinis Ani.
