Back to life by the beach

After a family road trip that included eleven states in six days (or was it seven?), we made it to our new home, back in Northwest Florida. (Pics and a little blurb about it are here.) The drive was gorgeous at times, and also mind-numbing, but worth every minute because I was not about to have Kili try flying for the first time at almost 12 (I think she’s like 80 something in dog years).

Anyways, I’m back. At the beach. Have been for a few weeks now, and once I find a beach cruiser and soft top for my son (that I’ll definitely be borrowing), I’m done perusing facebook marketplace for a while. We got rid of so many things that it felt like a massive cleanse and fresh start. The past month’s definitely been an emotional whirlwind, but the first time I set foot at the beach and hopped in the water it was a massive deep breath and weight off my shoulders all at once. Even though there were tons of jelly fish that day.

Feels good to be back. Florida feels like a different planet compared to Washington, but they’re both such beautiful crazy places in their own way. But the ocean and beach, they’ve just had a tight grip on my soul and heart as far as I can remember.

Funny fact: I went on such a long barefoot beach run our first morning here that I strained a tendon on my ankle and couldn’t run on the beach for another week or so. Guess my feet need to get back in beach shape. ( Fast forward two weeks and they’re good to go/back in shape/lesson learned.)

Just ready for some fun waves now to make the welcome back feel complete. Or maybe a hurricane, we shall see. ‘Tis the season.

That’s it. No more deep thoughts. I’m pretty drained, but very at peace. I can’t really attempt to sound poetic at the moment, but I’ve got scribbled pages in the journal coming soon.

Life’s one helluva gorgeous ride. Love when it stops by the beach.

Now, here are a few pics. The tan bounced back rather quickly.

I finally got around to making my shopmy page, so you can easily shop outfits, skincare, hair and beauty over there. Wahoooo! Just give me time to get more stuff in that thing. It’s pretty time consuming, but it’s going to come in handy.
