A Love Letter To My Mompack

About two years ago, I received a tropical print LeSportsac backpack in a gift bag. Little did I know, that it would turn into my sidekick, my organizer, and my extra hand. My mompack.

So, I figured I’d write it a little love letter.

Dear Mompack,

Have I told you lately how much I love you? Well I haven’t. You’ve been stuffed, spilled on, filled with sand, and sweated on. When really I should be hugging you, like you do to me with your lovely padded straps. The other day, I found an old half eaten apple in your pocket, some sunscreen that exploded, and more Cherrios and Goldfish crackers that you could ever possibly want in your vicinity. You deserve better than that.

So let me tell you that I love you. Every inch of your perfectly pouched tropical printed lightweight nylon body.

Just when I think you can’t hold anything else, your front hook doubles as an extra storage space. Thank you for holding buckets, my water bottle, and some floaties all at once. You really outdid yourself there.

And traveling, you never cease to amaze me. I don’t know how you held my laptop, a small convenience store of snacks, a blanket, headphones, and other travel necessities. But you did. And I have yet to see any rips anywhere.

You also clean up so well. Remember that old sippie cup that hid in your inner right side pocket and spilled some unknown fermented liquid? I am so sorry I put you through that, but I hope you enjoyed your spa day in the washing machine. I even put the water temp on warm for you. Sorry for not telling you how beautiful you looked afterwards.

And, of course, the times when it’s just me and a tired, hurt, fussy, or clingy toddler, you hold everything so I can hold him.

…some days I need to hold a surfboard too, and you make that possible.

Plus, you’re also pretty damn cute.

Oh mompack, I don’t know what I’d do without you. Thanks for having my back.

Je t’aime.

Rebekah

Mompacks come in all shapes and sizes, but here’s mine: LeSportsac Essential 3 Zip Voyager. (Sorry mine is 2 years old and can’t find the exact print anywhere. Plus, I’m tired and just decided to stop looking.)
