RX Bikini Bod. The Stairmaster blaster.

Cardio equipment and I do not get along, At all. But one piece doesn’t feel like total torture, because you can get creative with it. The Stairmaster. We have an on again off again relationship. On our last date we came up with a 15 minute workout that’s perfect as a finisher after you lifted, or as a quick workout when you don’t have a bunch of time.

Here it is:

What you need. Stairmaster, or stair treadmill thing, and a medicine ball (10-20 lbs)

The key: Never use the hand rails, that’s cheating.

Put the stairmaster on manual and start climbing at a not too easy not too hard level for 1 minute. I start at level 7. Have the med ball balanced/rested somewhere on the machine (like where the screen/water bottle holder is)

minute 1 – climbing. No med ball.

minute 2 – keep climbing, but hold the medicine ball

minute 3 – keep climbing, but now hold the medicine ball, with your arms straight up over your head.

Boost the stair master up to the next level

minute 4 – climbing. No med ball.

minute 5 – keep climbing, but hold the medicine ball

minute 6 – keep climbing, but now hold the medicine ball, with your arms straight up over your head.

Boost the stair master up to the next level

minute 7 – climbing. No med ball.

minute 8 – keep climbing, but hold the medicine ball

minute 9 – keep climbing, but now hold the medicine ball, with your arms straight up over your head.

Boost the stair master up to the next level

minute 10 – climbing. No med ball.

minute 11 – keep climbing, but hold the medicine ball

minute 12 – keep climbing, but now hold the medicine ball, with your arms straight up over your head.

Cool down…2 minutes. Go down about 5 levels, and feel free to grab the rails if you need.

Stretch, drink some water, and go pass out on the beach for a little.
