I’ve always thought living on a tiny private island or remote beach would be as close to heaven I could get on this Earth. Now, that setup is sounding better than ever. Yes, I know a community is a big part of longevity, but I’d like to think coconut trees also make good company. And they tend to not turn into a-holes in times of crisis. They go with the breeze, weather the storms, are growing while keeping their cool, and what not.

So, here are a few dreamy setups to mentally drool over for a bit.

Anyways, my motto is pretty much always along the lines of something like this: take it day by day, take care of me and my families health, be positive, be kind, be even kinder, smile, looks for the beauty in things, soak up the sunshine when possible, unplug and avoid the media frenzy…and keep on dreaming of one-day having that little isolated slice of paradise.

I don’t care if it’s a hammock with a roof on it.

Hey, the stock market is low, maybe I’ll invest in the right stock and…miracles can happen, right?

In the meantime, let’s all dream, or just stop and breathe about calling one of these setups above, mi casa. And I’d have to find a way to bring my dog along.

All pics are from my escapes Pinterest board.

*I know it’s unprecedented times, and as much as I’m very aware of what’s going on, I want this site to be a fun break from it, so I’m just going to keep the posts coming. But, if there’s anything you want to see in the next two weeks, or months that would be a good mood boost, or more relatable (easy hairstyles, nail art, art, old sunny pics, rockstar outfits for around the house, you name it) just let me know. Also, would love to hear from you. Comments are fun.

…Or, I’ll just keep up with the colorful randomness, which I love to do too.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you. This is exactly the kind of post the world needs right now! Thank you for your voice of reason. I agree with you 100% and do not understand the vicious attitudes and behaviors. I live in South Florida and know spots that give us that “secluded empty beach feeling” all year long. The school closings had my kids thinking we would be surfing every day. But not now; beaches are closing everywhere. It stinks. But, we are going with the flow. Knowing that by staying isolated we are doing a small part in helping this to pass.

  • If you have any favorite small businesses where you get little boy gear, I’d love to hear more about them!

  • You are amazing! This was a nice little pick me up today! I needed it. I know the pictures above are not taken by you but I’ve noticed in other post that you have such great pictures. How do you get such great quality pictures? Especially of yourself? Thanks

    • Thank you so much! Yep I didn’t take any of these, but I take the majority of the pics on the blog – I either use a tripod and auto-timer or I have a little Bluetooth shutter button I hold and can take the pics remotely (mainly using my iPhone these days.) but Sometimes I use my nice camera that has a built-in wifi feature so I can set up the shot and take it via my phone. It’s been pretty fun learning how to take them. Hope this helps!
