Some long overdue do’s

Well, my hair is officially the longest it’s been since…when we moved away from Hawaii, perhaps? Anywho, I have a haircut in a few weeks and wanted to test out a few styles that I had my eye on for a while that happened to require some length. A few worked out rather nicely and took only a minute or two.

So here are the winners. If you have long, layered, super fine hair, that tends to look weird when you try out styles you saved on Pinterest. Give these a go. They worked and will be on the rotation. Hopefully even after I get my haircut. I really need to part with a few inches. Or maybe remember to brush my hair before taking pics.

The middle French bubble pony. I basically just tried to copy the pic I saved. This one might be my favorite, and was super easy. Using the tiny clear elastics, start with a small ponytail with the hair on top of your head. Grab some hair by your temples and make a ponytail out of that, along with the hair from the previous pony. Finally grab hair at the base of your neck and put it all into a low ponytail. Then pull/bubble it all out. Tip: bubble it more than you think you need to.

This was an ad for a long hairpin, but I replicated it with a pencil. Must note: It was definitely the most secure of all of the ones I tried. The company was Kov Essentials and it looks like they have some cool stuff.  I might end up getting one of those hairpins, too. I can’t lose my drawing pencils.

This was called the easy beach hairstyle or something like that. Click on the link. It is in fact super easy, and I am so pumped it worked. So pumped. This is the only one that might not work after I get my haircut though. Because it needs lots of hair or length or thickness to look cool.

And finally, the bandana knot pony. The only thing holding this hot mess together is a bandana. Boom. Fascinating stuff.

What else? I’ve been in the sun and chlorine nonstop this past month, and DaVines sent me some of their SU haircare to try (at the perfect time), which I now 100% recommend (Ok I have yet to try a product of theirs I don’t recommend.) But if you are in the sun, salt, or chlorine a lot, The SU hair and body wash, mask, and milk/leave in conditioner are all I’ve used for my hair lately, and I’m oh so hooked.

…And if anyone is looking for the greatest overnight hair styler – pick up a Sleepytie and thank me later. This thing is making me want to only get a trim instead of cutting off a few inches.

Yay hair. It’s been way too long since I’ve taken a pic of it in some sort of rad do. Or four.
