I’ve been taking a long, uninspired break from nail art. But that’s over. The sand here is too perfect of a backdrop, and my feet are always showing. So yeah, let the nail art resume.
First up, neon neutral tropical blobs. I had to do something super easy because I’m rusty, didn’t have that much time, and also realized I have no nail polish remover. Just had to go for it. Giving myself a high five for painting my right hand in these circumstances, too.
Anyways, if anyone wants to give it a shot, here’s how I painted ’em.
Base coat = a neutral beige.
Then go in and paint a few random blobs of a bright neon coral and a bright opaque baby blue. Just use the nail polish brush that comes wiht each color. It’s the best things for blobs.
Now, the art.
Palm fronds/leaves: Grab a navy polish and long skinny nail art brush. Do a long sweep for the middle, then just dab the brush at an angle for the sides. *Make sure this part goes over the bright blobs of blue/coral underneath.
Now, put on a few flowers in there corners (in my case, these also covered up some mistakes)
Flowers are super easy: Five dots in a circle, then one dot in the middle in a different color. I use a dotting tool, but a ball point pen or bobby pen works great, too.
Let the polish dry then seal with a super glossy coat. This step makes it all look smooth/better/like a pro did it.
Smile, and walk barefoot everywhere (Unless you’re like me and have to wear memory foam house slippers at home now because of heel pain.)
And of course. smile when the happy nails get back to the beach.
