Sometimes when you walk to the beach right before the sun sets, you just know it’s going to be a special one. Maybe there’s something in the air, maybe it’s the hazy faint high altitude cloud cover, maybe it’s all the families in matching outfits taking family pictures all over the place. Whatever it is, it was there last night when we walked up to the beach. And yes, it was a special one. A neon one. An I said “are you kidding me?!” out loud at least five times kind of one.
The best part? We spent it in the water as a fam. Warm water and David Bowie would be proud sunsets. I love you.
The second best part? Going for a solo dip after the sunset. The moon was rising right in front of me, and my husband and Levi were chowing down on some pizza back on the beach behind me. I might’ve gotten choked up a little bit while I was just floating there. And took a mental picture I hope I never forget.
Just felt like giving a little glimpse into one of those pinch me moments that I made a conscious effort to be present for and soak up. But was pretty pumped that I remembered my camera (and freed up some space on my memory card) too.
…and I might need to find a way to take one more post sunset swim before the water cools down. Damn that felt sublime.
