Faustine Fine goods. Some mighty fine hats

As hat season approaches (or if you’re lucky to live somewhere it’s year-round) I want to put a new brilliant line on your radar, Faustine Fine Goods.

Captain Sophie, (Yes, she is the captain of a 52′ sailboat) is one of those inspiring gals who I’d love to be adventure-seeking pen pals with, given her vibe and all the sweet things she does. Well, she added handmade hat maker to her repertoire, and anyone who gets a hold of one of her creations, consider you and your head blessed.

All of Sophie’s hats are handmade in small batches and are made out of vintage towels. I didn’t realize how cool vintage towels were until I saw her hats. No two are exactly alike and the towels are sourced from antique stores and grandmas in the USA and Australia.

I have one and it took my breath away when I opened the box, which I think is a very common occurance when a box is opened. Then I pretty much resembled a chic bad ass when I tried it on. Now i’m just waiting for a boat/beach/or hot sunny day in my backyard in a bikini.

The fit is kind of a wide brim quasi panama hat-ish vibe, and you can add a string, fringe, and really find something that fits the vibe you’d like. I think the next one (yes I’ll get another) will be a bold floral like this beauty, or something along those lines.

They’re unique, they make for the perfect beach/boat/sunhat, or just a hat that will make any outfit as far from blah and boring mass produced as you can possibly go.

Bravo, Sophie, keep up the fine work with Faustine fine goods. All of our heads, faces and shoulders thank you.
