Tiny House Big fun

In a time where all I want to do is simplify and be out in the middle of nature, a quick getaway to a little tiny house in the mountains was beyond a breath of fresh air.

I’ve been meaning to come up to this region in Washington since we moved up here, and I mean it only took a year and a half and a global pandemic (usually any chance I get to travel is back to the beach) to make that happen. Now that I’ve made the drive, realized it’s not that long at all, and it feels like I’m in a different world once we got across Steven’s pass, I can’t wait to go back.

Ok now to the tiny house. If you’re on the hunt for a cozy little über efficient nook that has everything you need, here you go. We stayed at the Leavenworth Tiny H0use village, which is about 17 miles north of Leavenworth. So there’s no town nearby (hallelujah), just mountains,  Lake Wenatchee (Yeowza what a beauty), trails, lots of fall foliage, and an ability to breathe deeper and relax without even trying. I packed two bags of groceries from Trader Joe’s and felt like I was ready to be a guest on Bear Gryll’s next show.

Side note: Here’s a quick tour of the house

The tiny house village was part of a Thousand Trails campground, so there were biking trails ( Snowshoeing in the winter), mini-golf, usually a lot of amenities and activities (darn covid shut most of them down), and a few smiling people out enjoying the peace and quiet too.

I could go on and on, but there’s just something about tiny house living that is therapeutic. Even for just a few nights. It’s hard to talk about or capture in pictures, it’s just a feeling that puts things in a good perspective.

Thank you Petite Retreats and Leavenworth Tiny House for the stay, you might be seeing us so frequently Rudolph will think we’ve moved in.

See if there’s a Petite Retreat near you – think, tiny houses, cottages, cabins, yurts, and more. Fun times.
