Les Coquilles en Blanc

Sometimes impulse buys at the drugstore turn out to be a good thing. Case in point: a white sharpie. It was the perfect tool to zone out and paint on a few darker shells for a bit.

Yes, they might not be as detailed as some in the past, (since a white sharpie is basically a paint pen), but I am totally digging the tones on these.

I think I say this every time I post about drawing, painting, or doing anything crafty with shells, but I swear, it’s therapy. You just get to relax and draw as little or as much as you want on a shell. You end up studying the shapes, textures an grooves, noticing things you didn’t before…and gosh. It’s really my zen time. It’s like a brain massage.

And yes I’ll be sure to grab a few more shells, so I can still have the aforementioned zen time when we’re up in Seattle. Although there are lots of sand dollars out on the coast. Those should be fun too.

Getting crafty with gifts from the sea. Highly recommend it.

Same with impulse buys from the drugstore.

*One more pic, which shows that Levi is a fan of them too. Or he was trying to knock them out of my hands.
