I’ll admit it, when it comes to certain little healthy living essentials, I am, to put it quite delicately, cheap. I am known to drink out of the same old plastic Crystal Geyser bottle for a month straight (or until my dog chews it up). I will contemplate spending $200 on a pair of torn up jeans, but have a hard time forking over $5 for a 3-for-1 deal on socks. And, I kid you not, I still have a grey sports bra from…my sophomore year of high school. As disgusting as that might sound, it is confirmation that Champion bras are built to last. And no it does not have permastink.
However, I recently had a breakthrough. I realized that when it comes to anything health and fitness related, you should take pride in it. No, this doesn’t mean you need to pay big bucks and buy an entirely new wardrobe. It means it’s good to realize that a good investment in the little things, can make a big difference.
Here are 3 things that helped me change my ways.
bkr
bkr is a stylish line of glass water bottles in a silicone sleeve. I know, doesn’t sound like rocket science. But it is absolute sheer brilliance. I swear water tastes better when consumed out of these. I have an orange one and it literally goes with me everywhere. I even brought it on the dinghy to a deserted island in the Maldives (here’s proof). It is sitting next to my laptop as I type this. I’ve never been so stylishly and healthfully hydrated in my life. I might end up with one in every color by the end of the year.
Pointe Studio Socks
Pointe Studio socks are colorful workout socks that have little rubber shapes on the bottom for traction (yeah barre class or sweaty yoga feet). But they are also thick, comfy, durable, kinda make your feet feet rather nice, and you gotta admit the MAIN reason…they are really, really cute. Case in pointe (pun intended)… Pair 1, pair 2, and pair 3. Yeah for happy pretty, even when sweaty, feet.
An Aloha Print Sports Bra.
Anything tropical or aloha print holds a special place in my heart. Well, the tops by With Love From Paradise have a space right next to my aorta. I am convinced that if you find a sports bra that is vibrant and fun, you are more likely to wear it, and therefore are more likely to workout and be active at any time. Like my reasoning? I think even Tony Horton would agree…and wish he could wear one.
Fun times.
Cheers to taking pride in all aspects of your health.
…and finally throwing out that old Champion sports bra.
