Here are few of the latest creations that came out of my little art nook…
Yeah, the “studio” is a work in progress. The goal is to totally fill up the wall with colored in pages of my coloring book, calendars (Note: the new 2026 one is in my shop), and random sketches/quotes. But seeing that’s been my goal for two months now, and I have yet to put up a single page, we shall see how long it takes.
I’ve been painting shells, mainly because they’re soothing and also make sweet gifts, so be sure to check out that section of my shop (if I save them all and do a launch that takes even longer than my attempt at a studio collage wall) so, simply putting them in there as I make them, it shall be. Or shell be.
Being a one-person operation these days is no joke. I do marketing (which I despise doing for my own stuff). Awkwardness to the maximus), writing, handling the shop, email newsletters, all the emails, product photography (finally got new hats pics…after almost a year), and shipping (for originals, and gifts/shells.) I now realize if you wear too many hats, they tend to blow off when there’s a gust of wind. And life’s been windy.
I am just so thankful for any time I get to sit down and create in this little, beloved, work-in-progress, messy nook. And I’m proud of anything that comes out of it. That doesn’t mean I’m not hyper-critical of it all, but everything, little or small, matters. I give. myself a hypothetical pat myself on the back and say, “You tried, now keep on keeping on.”
Gotta admit, the floating pic turned out pretty sweet though. Painting reflections of water with watercolor is a trip. (it’ll be in the shop soon. Just sent it to get scanned. I procrastinated a few weeks on that, too.)
Thanks for supporting my art, or at least giving a damn about it. I sure love having a place to share it on here, and am so darn grateful people still stop by from time ti time.
I have so many ideas stuck in my brain. Now let’s make time to get them on paper soon, too.
