A Looooooong Overdue Art update

Holy moly, I didn’t realize how long it’s been since I’ve done a post about my art. Guess that’s what happens when life throws you curveballs, and painting is one of the things that keeps me swinging. Yet I couldn’t bring myself to post about it.

More about the pieces below, but here’s a massive bunch of paint splatters, layers of patience, impossible to duplicate, 100% made by a human hand (that’s covered in paint), documentation of my latest art.

Ok …now for some details.

1: The beach bungalows series. I love painting little cozy beachside bungalows, aka my dream house (small – less to clean), and the goal is to compile them all into a book about my dream house someday. Finished the first four, probably 12 or so more to go.

2: A few surf art pieces, a few portraits, and a few random “just because I felt inspired and there’s no significant backstory” pieces too. It’s how I roll. Sometimes art feels good without the story behind it being super deep.

3: Prints: I’m on the fence about prints these days, and might switch to doing limited edition only, so if you don’t see prints in the shop or a certain piece yet, that’s why. Also, I’m in a constant state of catching up with the shop/mini online gallery, so there’s that, too. But I dunno, maybe stressing limited edition prints and originals is the way to go. We shall see.

4: I love revisiting old travel pics and seeing them in a new light, which leads to trying them as a painting (Ex: the one of me with the longboard)

Ok, I really didn’t need to do a numbered list of all this. Long story short, I’ve been painting, and thankfully all the pieces made the move safely, and are still in a big moving box, which is also where they were the entire time in Florida. One day I’ll find a cabinet that can hold the big pieces with the same rigor of a large TV box.

There’s so much I want to do with my art, but it seems like all I can manage to do right now is just to keep on painting. Which is a good thing. So yay for art, the inspiration, purpose, and company it provides.  Let’s hope I don’t go six months or so without sharing it on here again.

And for my feeble attempt at marketing…here’s my shop, where you can buy most of these in some form, if they’re not already sold out… goldfishkissgoods.com
