I’m oh so grateful to be in a place where Dahlias flourish. These blooms have me at hello every darn season, and man oh man they’re so freakishly beautiful and unique.
…and fun to photograph. It’s kind of entertaining how different they look depending on the weather and camera I used.
1st pic = iPhone on a cloudy grey day.
2nd = Nice camera on a super sunny afternoon but huddled over the flowers so they’d be in my shadow and not direct sunlight.
3rd = Nice camera again, but they were wrapped in bouquet paper and I was standing in the shade next to a barn.
4th pic = Wide angle of the rainbow dahlia setup they made at The Red Barn farm. So cool. So wish I had brought my nice camera that day.
Anywho, the beauteous blooms keep on keepin on until the first freeze of Fall, so I’ll be hitting up the little flower stands and u-pick em fields as much as possible. ( Yep. There are farms where you pay $10 and can just go pick as many stems as you can fit into a mason jar. Talk about a simple beautiful joy in life.)
Ohhh dahlias…
