Sun spots and smile lines. They all have some great stories to tell…
I remember watching some famous actress being interviewed on Oprah a long time ago, and she looked amazing. Like at least a decade younger than she was. When asked what her secret was, she said she rarely went in the sun. And bragged about going on a trips to the beach and never leaving her umbrella or going in the pool or ocean.
I clearly remember thinking, yeah she looks great, but man, she’s really missed out…all for the sake of a few lines and wrinkles.
Hear me out on this one…
I know you have to be super smart with the sun. I like rocking a big hat, and wear good, high quality sunscreen religiously year round. My skin isn’t perfect, but I’m doing my best, and have really upped my sun protection game.
But, I’ve also really upped my appreciation for all the hikes, surfs, fun summers, swims, boat days, beach days, days on the mountain, paddles, travels, and hefty doses of mood boosting Vitamin D days over the past three and a half decades as well.
So if I’m ever on Oprah/some famous talk show when I’m in my 70′s, I might not get compliments on how great my skin looks, but gosh, we’re going to have some fun stories to talk about.
