Launched by the people behind the award-winning luxury travel site, blacktomato.com, Beach Tomato is dedicated to giving readers eye candy in the forms of idyllic getaways and sandy beaches of all colors you just want to roll around in. Founder Tom Marchant and his fashion editor girlfriend Kirsty Hathaway, ironically thought of the site while sitting on a picturesque beach in Bahia. See, beautiful scenery is the ultimate fuel for creativity.
The site is divided into five sections: Places (about travel), Promenade (about fashion – bikinis included), Preen (about beauty), Play (books, music, culture) and People (contributors), which feature articles by the site’s roster of beach addicts. Fashion, Beauty, Beaches and culture…oh my. Pinch me, I am in love.
Some great features are: Beach of the week, Favorite Beaches for…, Favorite beaches in…, The Line Up, and pretty much the ENTIRE SITE.
So, until I can save up a few thousand dollars and a million frequent flyer miles, this might be my only wanderlust cure. Except for it is making my “must travel to” list expand.
