I figured it was time to take a break from tropical genre print toes for a bit, and venture back into the native, boho, Pendleton, or whatever the buzz word is for this kind of print I ended up with, pedicure. So yup, my toes are now on that boho band wagon. I blame the Birkenstocks I caved in and finally got.
Just imagine I painted these while sitting in a beach tee on a deserted beach in Mexico. Which I didn’t, but that would be cool.
Now, here’s how to paint them. I tried to do something easier this time, which it was. Trust me, I totally messed them up, did a sloppy job, and think they still turned out pretty darn cool.
• Paint toes a super opaque beige base color.
• Using a nail art brush, paint 4 thin stripes, in 4 different colors, on each toe. I did the following combo: peach, red, purple then blue. On your big toe you will have to do 8 total thin stripes. Because big toes are awkward, and need more painted love like that.
• Now, clean off your nail brush, grab some opaque white polish, and paint a bunch of triangles and lines on top of each toe.
**For the little toes, I found two triangles facing each other, or just a single triangle outline looked sweet. Then that big toe again…just start painting a bunch of triangles – some connected, some not, and stop when you think it looks cool. Throw in some lines. Maybe even a few dots iof you are feeling saucy.
• Let the polish dry a little, then cover with a glossy topcoat to seal in the deal.
• put on some Birkenstocks, and huge oval shades, listen to Jack Johnson, and go grab an iced coffee.
…and then admire your toes in a beach teepee. Yes they exist.
Polish by Julep and Zoya ( All 4 free. Yippee.) Birkenstocks, Ruby Mint towel, and some Flash Tattoo toe rings. Arriba.
