I am loving, and I mean LOVING these little niche companies that are popping up and bringing stylish alternatives to beach necessitites lately. We’re talking towels, rad chairs, and now some oh so stylish, boholicious fringed sun protection you can take a nap under, known as… Beach Brellas.
Founder Shelley Arends is a Laguna Beach beach bum mom who wanted a really stylin’ umbrella for the following reasons: 1) they really didn’t exist, and 2) she figured it would come in quite handy because everyone (kids, friends, out of town guests, spouse who forgot to put their contacts in (oh wait that’s me), etc.) could easily know where she was on the beach. So, after an old one that almost made the cut wore out, Shelly took matters into her own hands, made a brella that lived up to her standards, realized how rad and unique it was…et voila Beach Brella was born.
And I am so glad that it was.
The debut collection of Beach Brellas has eight different umbrellas, each has a different bright boho textile, is adorned with fringe or beads, and comes in a sweet & sturdy canvas carrying bag. And really, they just are…oh so pretty. I wish I could use it when it rains. In fact, it hardly rains in A so next time it does, I might have to bust mine out.
Bella Beach Brellas. Say it five times fast.
Also, even if you don’t live next to the beach, and you have a patio or outdoor space. I use mine at home as my umbrella on my patio (just fill up a bucket with sand to make it stand up)…and it’s waaaay cooler than anything you’ll find at Home depot.
So, seeing that shade is some of the best fool proof sunscreen known to mankind. Here’s a stylish, stand out from the Tommy Bahama crowd, small business that’s come to the rescue.
Thanks Shelley for your oh so bella Beach Brellas, bella Beach brellas, Bella Beach Brellas, bella Beach Brellas, bella Beach Brellas. There. I said it five times fast.
