Summer To-do Checklist: Waterproof Disposable Cam Fun

Digital is great, but there is something special about dropping off some film, an hour later opening up an envelope, and seeing those images…for the first time…on actual paper.

For the past 2 summers I’ve made sure to buy at least 1 disposable (preferably waterproof) camera that costs about $8, and gives you pics worth much more than that. Here is why I suggest you do the same:

1: You can’t take a pic then immediately scrutinize what you don’t like about how you look, what you are wearing, the face you are making, having one eye partially closed, the picture crasher in the background, etc.

2: You will actually have printed photos you can frame, cut out, make a collage with (like in the pics above), and if there’s one of a special someone, carry it around in your wallet.

3: You only get 26 shots per roll (gotta love winding the film after each shot), so you make each picture count

4: Did I mention how fun it is to actually be able to take a camera into the water?

5: It’s a reminder that little simple things can still be a bunch o’ fun.
