Whoever knew a deck of cards could provide you with a total butt whooping. Well, it can. The other night, I still needed to workout, couldn’t go to the gym, and couldn’t go for a run. So where did I turn? Pinterest. I searched “at home workouts”, and stumbled on a certain workout that originated on The Biggest Loser, that was quite popular in the home workout genre.
I now know why.
30 minutes later, I was drenched in sweat, and looking at a deck of cards in a whole new light.
Here’s the workout:
Assign each suit a certain movement:
Clubs = Squats (with resistance band)
Diamonds = Push ups
Spades = Burpies
Hearts = Push press (with resistance band)
Each card you flip over, do that number of that move, and work your way through the entire deck, with no break in between card flips.
Face cards = 10 reps.
Aces = 11 reps (this is rather fun on burpies. Not.)
Fun stuff. Especially when your puppy likes to stand on your back for the push ups.
Why this workout rocks? It’s proof that if you really want to workout, there is always a way.
Whoever originally thought of this on The Biggest Loser (I think it was Jillian Michaels), I want to give you a big, soaked in sweat, bear hug.
